How we grade this

Cut sticks are judged as a pack. Kun and Chuangui measure a sample for the spread of length and diameter, look at the cut ends for clean, square cuts without splintering, and check that the scraping is even from stick to stick. Because these sticks often go straight into drinks and retail packs, they also smell and taste a piece. Guangxi cassia should be sweet and warming with a long finish, with no sour, musty or burnt note.

What lengths can you cut?

Sticks are cut from scraped rolls to the length you specify. Give a target length and tolerance, and we measure the sample against them.

Do you supply retail packs?

Yes. This form is offered in bulk and in Retail & Foodservice unit packs for businesses; unit packs are quoted separately.

Why does a scraped stick look lighter than a natural one?

Scraping removes the grey outer cork and shows the reddish-brown bark beneath. The colour shows the preparation, not the strength.
